Anyway, this import ROXX.Avid Janet fan and I can't wait for "20 Years Old". If you want to hear it, just go to the power-mix.com website and you can listen to the whole thing, not just 30 seconds to a minute. Why the heck did Janet not release this in the US. It would have made such an impact on the Dance Singles charts, and the Hex Hector Club Mix is great.
The Velvet Mix is also an amazing version of the song, for some time I liked it even better than the original, it also fits in nicely with summer and you can relax to it. I think jermaine is capable of producing better remixes than this one but it's alright. When I first heard someone to call my lover would be the follow up release to the hit song all for you and at first I was disappointed cause I thought trust a try was the best song on all for you and janet kept saying she loves that song, but then if you think about it someone to call my lover fits in perfectly with the moods of summer with the sampling of a guitar riff from ventura highway by america, and it also combines freestyle drum & bass beats, r&b, dance and pop, which shows off janet's electic musical style nicely. Also the so so def remix featuring now boyfriend jermaine dupri is included on this set. Also this song went to number 3 on the pop charts and had a beautiful simple video The edited single version is slightly different from the album version cause it's shortened and there are more drum machine sounds put into the chorus to make it more radio friendly. The dance mixes of it are janet's best ever, the harmonies and the beat fit in beautifully with the melody and dance beat.
Of the remixes, my fav is the So So Def remix. Even if I'm listening to this adorable song in Febuary, I feel like it's summer. This song (one of the highlights of the mostly disappointing ALL FOR YOU album) is Janet's best song since "That's the Way Loves Goes", in my opinion.
So this single is definitely recommended to everyone. The remixes, especially the velvet mix is really good though, and so are the dance mixes, they really fit in with the moods of summer. someone to call my lover is a good summer song even though janet is capable of making better songs than this. It sounds like it's over 10 years old, the lyrics are too simple and she relied on sampling, but it's still very listenable and catchy.
The hold project seems rushed. I know sex sells but you have true beauty inside and out, which is much more marketable and pleasing.i'm waiting. I must say when I heard the entire album, I was over all dissapointed. Janet, dumped the explict stuff.it makes you appear as if you have nothing left to give and runing of out new material. However,"Someone to call my lover" is cute.Rick Anderson Unlike Ms. Jackson's previous recordings, this albuum is full of explict jibberish that.says nothing.
